Long-Distance Moving Cost in Ontario

Flat-rate, fuel included, and agreed before the truck leaves your driveway.

Long-distance quotes are where the moving industry does its worst work. A low number over the phone, a truck that is somehow "over weight" on the day, and a bill that arrives after your things are already on the road.

We quote long-distance moves flat-rate. The price is built from the same crew rates as a local move, plus the $350 truck and travel charge and $3 per kilometre beyond the first 100 km - and fuel and tolls are already inside that number.

Your things stay on one truck with one crew from your old door to your new one. No shared trailers, no transfer terminals, no waiting for someone else to fill the load.

What moves the number

What Makes a Move Cost More

Actual road distance

We price the real driving distance between your addresses, not a straight line on a map, and only the kilometres past the first 100 are charged.

How much is going

Volume decides the truck size and the crew, and that is set at the walkthrough. A quote given without seeing the home is a guess.

Stairs at both ends

A long-distance move has two addresses and therefore two sets of stairs, elevators and parking situations. Both are priced.

Delivery window

Most Ontario routes are same or next-day. If you need a specific delivery date because of a closing, tell us when you book so the truck is reserved.

Storage between dates

If your closing dates do not line up we can hold the load and deliver on possession day, which is quoted separately and clearly.

What we do not charge for

No fuel surcharge, no weight adjustment, no long-carry surprise. Flat-rate means the number you approve is the number you pay.

No extra charge

Included in Every Quote

Same crew loading and unloading
Fuel and tolls in the flat rate
Committed delivery window
Full inventory list at pickup
Extra padding and wrap for transit

FAQs

Cost Questions

How is a long-distance move priced?

Flat-rate. It combines crew time at both ends, the $350 truck and travel charge, and $3 per kilometre past the first 100 km. Fuel and tolls are inside that figure.

How much to move from Toronto to Ottawa?

A three-bedroom house to Ottawa is roughly the figure in the table above, based on about 450 km. Your real quote uses the driving distance between your actual addresses.

Will the price change after you load?

No. Long-distance moves are quoted flat-rate and agreed before the truck leaves. There is no weight reassessment and no fuel adjustment.

When will my things arrive?

Most Ontario routes are same-day or next-day. You get a committed window when you book, not an open-ended range.

Do my belongings change trucks?

Never. One truck, one crew, door to door. Nothing is transferred at a terminal or consolidated with another household.

Can you store my things between closing dates?

Yes. Tell us the gap when you book and we will hold the load and deliver on your possession date.

Do you require a deposit?

It depends on the move. A deposit is not required on every booking, but on some - long-distance, commercial and specialty jobs in particular - we do take one. Call us at +1 (289) 943-8110 and we will confirm what applies to your move before you book. Where a deposit is taken, it comes off your final invoice.
