Condo Moving Cost in Toronto
What a tower move actually costs, and why the elevator window decides the bill.
A condo move is priced by time, and in a tower almost all of the time is spent between the unit and the truck - not driving.
The rate is $80 an hour for two movers with the truck and equipment, plus a single $350 truck and travel charge. What changes your total is the building: whether the service elevator is booked, how far the loading dock is from the elevator, and whether you get the whole window or share it.

What Makes a Move Cost More
The elevator window
A four-hour booked window with the pads already up is the cheapest possible condo move. Sharing a passenger lift with residents is the most expensive, because the crew waits.
Distance from dock to unit
Some buildings put the loading dock two levels below and a corridor away from the service elevator. That walk happens on every single trip.
Floor and unit size
Height barely matters once you are in the elevator. Unit size matters a lot - a one-bedroom plus den holds noticeably more than a one-bedroom.
Street-level loading
Older buildings without a dock mean loading from the street, sometimes with a permit. We check that before quoting rather than discovering it on the day.
Building paperwork
Missing a certificate of insurance can stop a move at the concierge desk. We file it in advance, and it costs nothing.
Move-in and move-out on the same day
Two buildings means two elevator windows. If they overlap badly, the crew waits between them - worth checking when you book both.
