What we do

Appliances are the heaviest things in most homes and the least forgiving. A fridge is 250 to 400 lb on four small feet, a range has a glass top and a door that swings, and a front-load washer has a drum that will damage itself in transit if it is not secured.

They also sit in the two tightest rooms in the house. Getting a fridge out of a kitchen usually means taking its doors off, protecting the floor it is about to be dragged across, and knowing which way it can safely tilt.

We move appliances with proper appliance dollies and straps, and we tell you plainly what has to happen before we arrive - because the things that go wrong here are almost always the disconnection, not the carry.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you disconnect and reconnect appliances?

We disconnect and reconnect standard plug-in appliances and reposition them in place. Gas lines and hard-plumbed water connections must be handled by a licensed gas fitter or plumber - in Ontario that is a legal requirement, not a preference, and we coordinate timing with whoever you use.

How long before I can plug the fridge back in?

If it stayed upright the whole way, a few hours is enough. If it had to be laid down or heavily tilted, leave it standing upright for a full 24 hours so the compressor oil drains back before you power it on.

What do I need to do before moving day?

Empty and defrost the fridge and freezer at least 24 hours ahead and dry the inside. Run the washer empty on a spin to drain it, and disconnect the hoses. Everything else we handle.

What are transit bolts and do I need them?

They are the shipping bolts that lock a front-load washer drum during transport. If you kept them from delivery, fit them or hand them to us. If not, we brace and pad the drum instead and move it more carefully.

Can you get a fridge through a narrow doorway?

Usually, by taking the doors off the fridge and sometimes off the frame. We check the measurements before the day so it is not discovered with the fridge halfway out.

Do you move a single appliance?

Yes. A single fridge, washer or range is a flat-rate job and does not need a full moving booking.
